Emerging Artists

Starting in 2023, the Cannon River Clay tour decided to invite young ceramic artists at the beginning of their careers to support, educate and encourage them and help us realize our goal of bringing new voices to our tour. Each host chooses and invites  2-3 emerging makers each year. The benefit is mutual. Emerging Artists are able to display and sell their work while helping stage the tour and interact with all of our established guest artists. Additionally, they gain experience selling their work, and learn from mentors about how to launch their practice in a professional direction. 

Our 2026 emerging artists are :

Ella Shatz (Connole Studio)

Ella Shatz is a ceramicist, working primarily on the wheel. For over 9 years she’s been exploring a range of techniques, considering line, form, and function. Ella is from Carlisle, PA and studies Studio Art at Carleton College

Mariko Bolton (Connole Studio)

Mariko is a ceramics sculpture artist and potter who grew up in Williamstown, Massachusetts. They graduated from Carleton College in 2025 and just finished out this past year working as the Educational Associate in Studio Art at Carleton.

Kiara Artley (Larchill Farm)

Kiara Artley of Northfield, MN, began ceramics 7 years ago, & since working with Glynnis Lessing, has begun selling her work at local venues—including FSU, where she pursues her BFA. Her pieces focus on introducing whimsy into functional sculptures.

Novella Haneman (Eureka Pots)

My name is Novella Haneman and I’m a 19 year old artist in college from Lakeville Minnesota

Parker Gamiño (Larchill Farm)

My name is Parker Gamiño. I make functional pottery pieces meant to be used in everyday life. Bowls are some of my favorite forms. My style is expressive, using techniques like chattering, fluting, hakame brushwork, and marbling clay.

Connor Isenberg (Eureka Pots)

Hello I am Connor and I've had my hands in clay for eight years now, but no where near the 40 plus years that these other artists have. I live in Cannon Falls, where the little cannon meets the main river. And for work outside clay, I build Kilns

Colleen Baillie (Eureka Pots)

Colleen Baillie is a Minnetonka-based potter who creates functional forms adorned with organic elements, patterns, and textures inspired by nature.
