Darah Lundberg
As a ceramic artist I look toward my natural surroundings. I attempt to execute soft, and inviting forms that are free of pretension and focus on nourishment and relationships with the earth . I am thoughtful of form and surface. I strive to create cohesive conversations throughout all aspects of my work. My aesthetic is to marry calm surfaces using soft whites, greens, warm blushes of oranges, pinks and the gradient of desert reds with strong forms. I then manicure them to appear delicate, while feeling weighty enough to be solid and strong.
My pieces are intended for everyday use. I predominantly make functional objects and feel honored for them to be brought into homes and be used during something as special as the meal time or daily rituals.
